IF the SEC goes after any of these teams, Virginia Tech would be the most likely candidate. After that, several schools would be excluded due to objections from existing SEC members (FSU, G Tech, Miami). Boston College would be ridiculous geographically (but Boise is in the Big East.....) If VT were to join, SEC gains no new TV market by adding Virginia or Maryland. That leaves the 4 NC schools. Of them, NC or NC State would be the most logical. Perhaps they would look to the Big East for the 16th team. West Virginia, Rutgers or Pittsburgh could be viable. They have a new buyout that is extremely cost prohibitive.
BTW, I hate all of this. Maybe it will be good for college football, but at the moment, I am opposed to expansion. (was not a fan of expanding to 14 teams) I don't want to see rivalries go by the wayside. The writing is on the wall, and it is happening, so I guess it is better to be on the forefront than to got the way of the SWC.

Perhaps Twitter knows something that ESPN and CNNSI don't know, but there is nothing on either web site about Clemson departing the ACC for the Big 12. Just a rumor thus far, I suppose
Sometimes those guys don't have the inside sources that a local guy has. Not saying that this is a 100% factual story but here's a little more info for it.
