Somebody make me feel better

  • Don't like this feeling I have going into the Tech game. We can not lose this game!!

  • Let your heart not be troubled! If we dont turn the ball over, we will win big. Our defense will stop the run and Murray & Co. will have a field day!. We win by 3 td's!

  • My feelings have been up and down this week. At times, I have the feeling that our D completely shuts down their option and at times I have the feeling their option keeps the ball away from our O the whole game. I'm pretty nervous this year bc of the 2009 game....

  • Georgia is the more talented, better coached team.

Running the ball against Georgia is not easy from any formation.

  • I'm nervous, but I know we have the better team. A focused, determined UGA wins.

Does anyone know the status of IC or Thomas? I mean it's Friday, certainly Thomas's status has been decided right?

  • isn't Richt like 9-1 against these guys? the one fluke win was against willie. I have total confidence in coach Grantham stopping a HS offense.

  • Virginia shut down their offense...Virginia. As long as we stay disciplined and don't give up stupid penalties or anything like that(which we haven't all year) they won't be able to put up enough scoring drives to beat us. Remember their defense is BAD, their secondary especially. As long as we establish a decent run game, Murray will be able to have a field day. If we get up on these guys, they are going to be in real trouble.

  • Why would any Georgia man have a bad feeling about this game? We own these fools. Fish fry got his one token win and he'll never get another.

  • Defense not worried but red zone offense is only thing i worry about i don't want the game in Blair Walsh's hands Bobo is going to do a better job with Murray and the weapons he has .

    TurboDawgs

  • think about this.........we beat them and their vaunted option attack last year when we didn't have near the talent on the defense that we have this year. we have not one but TWO guys in the middle to stop that dive play. if you stop the dive play consistently, you stop their offense.

had to look it up to see whatchutalkingbout and you're right, Georgia ranks 2nd in the SEC in run defense behind Alabama and ahead of LSU-impressive. I then looked up your pass defense to see what the ranking was, I think 5th. Didn't realize you guys had that stout of a defense.

Just because another team had success against them means nothing with regards to our game.

We gave up over 100 more yards on the ground to GT than Duke did last season.
DUKE (who was about the worst run defense in the ACC last year).

We've got a much better personnel than last season.
But when it comes to chop blocks and the option offense, personnel may not make that much of a difference (they call it the great equalizer).

It's all about schemes. If we take away the dive play and force them to quiick pitch the ball, I think we may have some great success defensively. That's when all of their turnovers occur. And if we can get them behind and forced to pass more often, that's when their chances of winning disappear like a snowball in hell.

Scheme, shmeme, it's all about FUNDAMENTALS. the two most important are blocking and tackling. You do those 2 things better than your opponent, then you winn 95-99% of the time!

Arky's DE tried the same thing against the LSU pitch option today. He would force the pitch, then trail the RB hoping someone could turn the RB up and he could make the tackle along the line of scrimmage. It works well if the corner can shed his block and turn the RB up field soon enough.

Did you notice how LSU ran the dive option? The QB keeps his eyes on the DE and if the DE bites on the dive, he keeps and runs to where the DE vacated. The announcer mentioned LSU ran that dive 15 or so times, then one time, the QB keeps it and BAM, a long TD run. We have our work cut out for us against LSU. They are a much better team with Jefferson running the option and throwing than they are with the other QB, IMO.

  • should be concerned..one week to get ready for the option...but I think they are not as consistent as they could be with the o this year
