Great piece. I was a little confused. Are we not expecting to see Washington and Jarvis Jones both manning the outside linebacker spots (ie. 3 other down linemen) or Drew and Jarvis Jones together in the same situation in 2012?

I presumed that the spring move was a cross-training exercise and that once summer began, Drew and Washington would be called to get reps with both Grantham's and Garner's groups.

Our front 7 is going to be awesome, no matter how it's constituted. It's going to have to be, at least for the first 3 or 4 games until we're full strength. Somebody is going to show up big unexpectedly. Maybe a R. Wilson or a Vasser or Burroughs. Game 5 on is game on!

In the 2 minute drill against the first team offense, Grantham put Washington over center and Jenkins over RG. Up to that point, the offensive line had done a pretty good job defending the defensive front. All of a sudden, Burnette couldn't handle Jenkins and Washington was dog-sled pulling Andrews (one of the funniest offensive holdings I've ever seen).

I can't imagine getting leaned on by Jenkins for 20 minutes and then being asked to adjust to the quickness of Cornelius Washington.
