Last time I checked South Carolina has passed UGA with less talent. South Carolina has been an afterthought up until Spurrier got there. Sure it took awhile but it takes time to establish a winning attitude at a program that has never won before. Your opinion is fine though I'm not going to bash you. If you want a fair answer to this question post this topic on tbb and I'm sure you'll get a response you don't want to hear from different fans. The truth hurts but it will set you free. Too much bias here Imo. Where is the objectivity?

Check this out. You will fit in well here.

Spurrier because he is simply a better football coach. Lots of coaches are douche bags and they are the same guys who are the best in the business. When was the last time a nice guy won a national championship? I'd take the douche each time to get the best results on the field.

I am old enough to remember the 1980 game which means I remember the 80's and 90's when UGA was irrelavant nationally. I am old enough to remember the early 2000's when CMR had an amazing run. Coaching seems to be cyclical. Yes, we had a couple of down years, and yes, CMR does seem to hold onto coaches too long that should go. But I am not prepared to be Tennessee just yet. I don't want to throw away a proven winner yet. I think it is shortsighted and naive to assume that Kirby Smart or the next "great coaching prospect" is going to get us where we want to go. Richts character aside, he is fourth best in the country in winning percentage among active coaches (.736), and he is doing it in the toughest conference. Richt has won an SEC championship twice since Spurrier.

Richt has struggled during the Willie Martinez era, and when he has a new starting quarterback. I can't fault him for that. And the whole Fulmer Cup crap gets old. If not for our transparency in drug testing and discipline, we wouldn't even know about half of the problems this off-season.

  • To be honest the Ajc UGA fans are much better than the ones this board. Sure they are a little whacky but at least they will admit that Richt needs to put up or shutup. Most of you guys are similar to the guys that post on the leatherhelmetblog lol. I don't mind a little homerism but too much just make our fanbase appear delusional. I'm sure you'll fit right in on the leatherhelmet blog. You guys can talk about how all the elite recruits are UGA locks.

  • I think the Washington Redskins stole Spurriers mojo. And I hope he still smells Stanfill's breath.
