DESTIN, Fla. -- Steve Spurrier has raised a proposal for only divisional games to count in SEC standings, though it's unclear how far that may go at the league's meetings.

Just looked at UGA's full schedule on the right side of the page. Interesting.
The real USC is the one that didn't finish in the top 25. The real Carolina is Academic Fraud U. South Carolina back to back Top 10. Got it.

Saban must not have been paying too close of attention in the NFL. He's right about nothing being perfect but the NFL schedules are loaded on strength of team versus opponent. Every year. Try winning the super bowl in back to back years. There's a reason it doesn't happen very often. Maybe all the teams in the NFL were tough so he didn't really notice. Now that he is back at a power school, with 50 years of winning tradition before he got there, he doesn't care to remember.

i think saban and richt said it about as well as it can be said. it never occurred to steve to make an argument like this in 2008 or 2009, when UGA beat his lousy squad but had murderer's row schedules. bottom line: quit crying, win the games on your schedule, and you'll end up where you want to be.
this is a sideshow staged by the master of them.
