  • JJ Green was one CB whom I was hopeful we would receive an early-week verbal commitment.

Welcome to the Bulldog Nation, JJ!

    14 recruits for 2013 already.

Wasn't it almost NSD before we had 14 commits for 2012?

But Nooooooo, the hot seat talk didn't impact Richt at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is amazing is he ended up with as good a class as he did.

30 kids of this caliber coming in for 2013!!!

    WOW!!

Art Schlichter's cellmates and Mo Clarett's rugby team believe Ohio State always does things honestly.....

  • Height is a legit concern for Green; he's not 5-9.

But I otherwise love what he brings to the table in terms of competitive spirit, playmaking and, maybe most of all, return game value.

And as much as teams are having to match up and incorporate nickel coverage to match today's offenses, I'm not so sure that height disadvantage can't be minimized through matching him up as the slot corner, for example

Tim wansley and Tim Jennings were prettty good CBs for us. In addition, former commit and current USC CB Nikell Robey is a standout.

As for the nickel, Tra Battle did a great job at that height.

There will always be the possiblity of a pure "jump ball" play, like Michael Bennett over Cody Riggs or A.J. Green over anybody. Hwever, if a guy can lock down on the short and medium routes and stay with the receiver on the long routes he has a place on the field.

    +1
JJ is one of my favorite recruits in this class and I'm pissed that Muchamp didn't extend at ATH at least. If anyone watched the HS playoffs he's electric and plays with a chip on his shoulders at CB like Brent Grimes. I see it's not just UF fans that get caught up on measurables. Great vaule in all 3 phases of the games.

  • paul's concerns about height well-founded in the context of our system, but the fact that we thought he was worth offering in spite of his height tells me everything i need to know. like paul said, JJ is a dynamic and explosive competitor who will be an outstanding (if perhaps a situational) contributor for us. he's a game-changing return man. GATA JJ!

  • I'm happy that the whole height thing has been relaxed a bit by UGA. If I remember correctly, we missed out on some DB's a couple years ago because they were too hung up on height. I realized they need a certain type of player, but sometimes you have to just take that potenial dynamic player despite his stature. Ballin' is ballin'.

  • If he's NOT 5'9 then how tall is be really? Has he been to any camps that have an official on his height and weight?
