Judging by what I have read, if it is like swap between Johnson and Priester it looks like we got a good deal with this one. Can't teach that type of speed and this kid seems like he wants to compete and it seems that Priester does not. Great pick up!

I'll admit that I know little about Johnson.
Is he due to move up in the rankings? I would imagine so. He did get a UGA offer. For all the talk of kids moving up when they get a Bama, or USC offer a UGA offer is nothing to sneeze at. UGA has been one of the most consistent recruiting schools in the nation under Richt. Second to USC in the Richt era IMO. A UGA offer for a kid should be looked at as big time IMO. One of the toughest offers to get.

This is great! I mean he is running a 4.3 now, wait until he gets better training and conditioning in college especially with our new speed coach. Might have ourselves a younger version of primetime! lol. Do we know if he will be an EE or not?

Don't really care about star ranking with Rico. He will have his chance to show out his senior year and earn that. When a kid shows out like that it is good to get them begore they become a possible 4 star after his senior season

Any time you stop the camp to call the head dawg over means something special happened. Who cares about stars when you have speed. Put the kid on the outside. Call hike and tell him to run as fast as he can. Two things will either happen. Either he runs by the CB for a deep pass, or the CB backs up and has help over the top with a safety and that will help open up the run or plays over the middle. UGA now has to speedy WRs and 2 more that can fly as well. Should be exciting to see some big plays between them. And even if the kid can't catch. Let him play CB. And every now and then hand the ball off to him and watch him run by everyone ( see brandon smith ) Welcome aboard Mr. Johnson.

Other than the 40 yard dash that everyone is talking about how did Johnson look? Like in football drills? I know our coaching staff didn't offer him solely because of his 40 time. If so our class would be filled with track stars.
I heard he has also looked great at some other recent camps. I wonder if he could possibly get an invite to The Opening? Did he perform at the Nike camp?

Is there any video out there at all for Rico Johnson? Since he didn't play his junior season I figure there might not be any video at all on him now.
Does atone know if there is any video though. Sophomore highlights? Camps? Anything? Hudl?

Awful lot to like about this young man. Legit 4.3, looks pretty solid for 175 lbs, and sounds like he's all-Dawg.

Agree. Our talent level is now such that we can be picky. So if the coaches like what they see in person enough to offer on the spot, that's impressive.
Wooten wasn't ranked highly and was only about 160 lbs. out of HS, yet he was talented enough to contribute as a true freshman.
And, nobody had heard of Bennett until he was impressive enough at his UGA summer camp to get his offer. That turned out pretty well.
Johnson has Brandon Smith-like speed, plus unlike Priester he's excited to be a Dawg. I like the pick up.
