Rodney Garner has reportedly agreed to join the coaching staff at Auburn, giving Georgia its first assistant coaching vacancy since prior to the 2011 season.

This is exactly what I'm worried about. Who do we get that could generate excitement and build good relationships with these guys?
This, I think, is our next chance to make a splash hire.

You guys can say what you want but this is not good for our program. We have grown "accustomed" to reeling in top DL talent. Garner will be difficult to replace and Grantham will be moving on to a college head coaching position within two seasons or less and our defensive staff will become a real work in progress. Can't underscore the importance of stability. Gonna hurt very badly in urban Metro Atlanta recruiting. Dissapointed we didn't keep him.

I can't help but think CTG doesn't mind this development. I will be interested to hear if Coach Richt tried hard to counter any offer. Have to hope it works out.
