The Junkyard

Hilton head for me. I vacation there every year. Being from sw Georgia, Destin is actually closer and has better beaches, but I like the natural setting of HHI. Golf courses are better too.

To me it would be Destin. I been going to Destin and Panama City for 20 years and love it. Went to Hilton Head for first time 2 weeks ago and there were sticks that were knee deep on the beach. Were not much stuff to do for kids, and the pools were ice cold.

I do not play golf though and I heard that is very enjoyable, but just for the beach and food I take Florida every time.

Destin not even close

Destin, then drive up to PCB and go to pineapple Willy's and then hit up club La Vela.

Never look a gift horse in the mouth.

But, if nobody's feelings are going to get hurt, I'll take Destin. But like a previous poster, I'd just soon keep the money in state and go to Tybee. MMMmmmmm, fried scollops at McElwee's.

I would say.... Destin

Went to HHI every year until I moved to Panama City and this one isn't even close
I might never leave this area unless a Hurricane runs me off for a few weeks
Everyday is a great day along the Emerald Coast

St Simons Is is my personal favorite with the history and village area but with the choices given it has to be Destin because of the beach and unbelievable water. That choice is tough because my brother is named Destin. LOL

JMO and FWIW, but I have to answer it two different ways:

Destin/Sandestin - if it's a family vacation. The Sandestin Beach Hilton is my favorite headquarters for a family vacation. Beach is outstanding! and there's considerable land attractions for the kids away from beach time. Plenty shopping available for the wives. And the area golf courses are absolutely beautiful, uniquely different, and plenty challenging for even the best golfers. A great all-round family locale.

Hilton Head - if it's a men's only golf outing. The golf courses there need to played by all golfers at least once; all the Robert Trent Jones courses, Palmetta Dunes, Hilton Head National, and naturally Harbor Town are must-play courses if you ever get the chance!
