  • Don't worry. Next years class I'd sick nasty! If we don't fill up this year, no worries. We will get what we need next year.

No offense huie (and I agree with what you're saying- next years class will be ridiculous), but I think you just made the OP's point and I kind of have to agree with him. Lets worry about filling out next years class next year. I'm not saying don't offer '13 kids (or even '14 for that matter) but lets not get complacent with the kids out there this year as we look forward to next. If we really want to be competitive, we need to recruit EVERY year, not just when GA has a strong class.

That being said, I think we close well this year. On NSD, I think we land both Dawson's, JHC, Patterson and a late offer (and commit) to JW out of Whitewater (for some reason I think AY goes to UF. No real insight, just my gut here). Either way, I think that we sign a solid class this season and we should all be looking forward to 2013, without overlooking 2012. Go Dawgs!

In all seriousness though, why do you want to fill this class up with prospects that would be projects? The coaches are after 7-9 guys that are good to elite players right now and project well at the next level. If we get all 9, then hot damn!!!!!! We won't though. So I see no reason to fill a scholarship with a player this season that won't help this team in two years, if ever. Yeah, some pan out. Ita too big a risk to take when 13' is loaded with guys that are better players as Juniors than some of the Seniors being mentioned for late offers. Don't see any reason or depth chart problem that should make us have to sign a project.

  • It's hard to evaluate "this year" until it is over, kind of like evaluating the team before the sec championship and outback bowl. I am no expert as all of you know but this year seems different than any other I have followed, that being said recruiting is one thing I don't question cmr and his staff on and they know what they are doing, so either these boys are lying to our coaches or they have a real good feeling going into wednesday and if they are cool with it I'm cool with it. We have to remember that there are millions of dollars on the line with these coaches and how they recruit so it is foolish for me or anyone else to think that they are just flipping coins in butt's mehre deciding on who they will offer and who they will not.

I agree. It seems as if all the "worth it" players are either already committed, or down to 2 or 3 schools. At this point, if there are schollies left over after offering those we want to offer, let's save them for next year.
