lack of game experience at the position. I definitely think the talent is there, but I hate the fact that we are going into the Mizzou game without IC because he would've brought game-breaking ability and a year of experience into what is sure to be a hostile environment. The only other player with that type of experience is RS and I think we'll all agree that Malcome, Marshall, and Gurley are all better ball carriers and probably are better recievers out of the backfield than he is. And while the reviews on Malcome have been good, I don't know that the coaches have the trust in him that they would've had in IC. In critical situations (3rd and longs, situations where we have to pass the ball, etcetera) RS will probably be the guy in there until these other guys prove that they are trustworthy. To me, that puts the offense at a real disadvantage. I think the ideal situation would be for us to be able to rotate everyone in there the way LSU did it last year, but I'm hoping for KM to have a Crowell-type freshmen season (minus the injuries) and for Gurley to get better as the season goes along. Thank God Marshall was an EE. That is BIG.
It will be real interesting to see how the freshmen respond to a hostile, SEC environment in game 2. Better it be Mizzou than USCe...
