To the Board (and hello Newbies)

  • Just wanted to say that I'm REALLY glad to see all of the "new" guys (and gals) on the site. Gentry and Rusty have really busted ass to get this site where it is now and have BIG plans for the future. This is the best place for Dawg news and recruiting insider nuggets. Along with a few other folks here, I've been here from the beginning and have come away more impressed after each passing month. You get factual, legit, CONFIRMED info, which is rare in this day and age of journalism. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

    One thing that I would like to request: as this board grows, I would like to keep the civil, fun, and "professional" vibe that the board has currently. The back and forth bickering and name calling on other boards is what drove me away from their sites. I am all for a good ribbing, but I think most on here completely understand where I'm coming from. Now I'm not a staff member- I'm really just a nobody- but I wanted to make this one request before the board REALLY blows up (and I know its going to and I'm eager to see it!!!). I feel it is up to us as subscribers, not Gentry and Rusty, to make this board a place where ALL Dawg fans can come and express their opinions and not be belittled because of it.

    Ok- gonna hop off of the soap box now bashful. Thanks for hearing me out and please let me know if I'm out of line with this post. Look forward to seeing all of you on the Board!!!

  • Could not agree more WinnDawg. I am so sick of the bickering and petty name-calling that you get everywhere else. Now I definitely can enjoy a good argument, but as long as it stays respectful and civil. Obviously we will disagree on our opinions on who we should/shouldn't recruit or who is to blame for this loss or that missed recruit, but I got so SICK of other boards because civil conversations were literally impossible(no exaggeration). I second your post, as well as your welcome to all the newbies!

    I agree. I'm new to this site as well. In addition to the outstanding coverage 247 offers, I am drawn to a message board void of the drivel and vileness of the other big board. I appreciate the insight some posters have here, but even moreso, I appreciate the civil tone. I hope we can keep it this way as it grows and matures.

    The news of CK4 is disappointing and hard to excuse. We should be able to talk about it (and it's ramifications) without disparaging the kid personally or each other for that matter. (I'll never forget the one night that HE RAN THIS STATE and for that I'm grateful as I hate tech the worst!)

    It doesn't take a ventspert to understand that we are dangerously thin at some key spots. We (as adults) expect these kids to "man-up" and "rise to the occasion" (insert your favorite euphamism here), as we should. However, should we not do the same? Here's to "manning up" DAWG fans and rallying behind the vast majority of players and coaches who are doing their all to turn this thing around.

    Look foward to getting to know you guys better and GO DAWGS.

  • I joined prolly about a month or two ago- never been a member at any other site. I am very fond of my money so when I decided to do this I got the 7 day free trail at all the sites I could. I say all this to make one point: there isn't another site in any aspect that compares to the quality of this site.

  • In addition to all the other things Gentry and Rusty are doing well, we absolutley know that the tone, civility and mature conversation here is a refreshing alternative to some of the other options out there.

    Know that Gentry, Rusty, me and any moderators we add will do everything we can to keep the board conversation the same goinmg forward - no matter how much we grow.

    You guys are right, too - you guys can help us "police" the board by policing yourselves.

    Love, love, love what we're building here. Glad more folks are noticing and we're committed to keeping the experience great as we grow - hopefully by leaps and bounds.

  • Without a doubt this by far the best site for informa(ion. Rusty and Gentry deal only in facts and not speculations. We as fans should appreciate the fact that some of the other sites might post it first, but they also post bad information. That is why I left and came here.

    Living in Florida I have to deal with all of the pro Gator and anti Georgia sentiment. This site is my reality check. Thanks to everyone for all you do to keep the Dawg Nation the best there is.

  • I had tried other sites before as well usually with just one month's tenure. But I found this one and boy, am I glad that I stumbled into it. Rusty and Gentry run a first-class operation.. Now if I could just get some upvotes. lol

    Just got back from a week vacation. I read 2-3 pages over here and felt caught up.

    Then, I went to TOS and read one thread ..... one freaking thread and logged off. It was like reading a bunch of 12 yr old kids post. A bunch of argue

  • Warms my heart to see everything being discussed in this thread.

    I too came over here because I wanted a site with true UGA fans who didn't feel the need to rip our coaches and players constantly and fly off the handle at every rumor, true or not. A few of us like WinnDawg, DawgPound, MtnDawg and others have helped to keep a great vibe on the board so far and I'm very happy our new friends seem just as committed to keeping it that way now that the secret is out on this place.

    As for the coverage, that was a nice bonus and it hasn't let up from when I first joined. The site is first rate in every way.
