Which UGA RB Will Have The Greatest Impact In The Outback Bowl?

  • Updated to clear up my most glaring typos! ...

And I'm saying POSITIVE impact; not negative impact by turning the ball over and costing us a chance for a TD!

Which RB do you think will have the most positive impact out of the backfield either running the ball, catching screen passes, and following his blocking assignments?

I'm looking forward to seeing someone step up and be 'the man' for UGA in the Outback Bowl!

Personally I think it will either be Isaiah or Boo since both have a lot to prove to show they are our leading RB heading into 2012. Richard Samuel will certainly have something to say about that as he showed the Bulldog Nation his capable running ability in the Florida game!

IC is perhaps the most talented, but I believe Boo wants to show that he should at least be in the rotation. With Keith Marshall coming in and competing for that starting job, IC, Boo, and RS have a lot to prove, and the Outback Bowl will be the ultimate game to showcase their talent to be in the starting position; a good opportunity for all these guys!

Who do you think it will be and why? Will it be another 'running-back-by-committee' kind of day, or do you think one particular RB will step up?

I'm looking forward to reading the thoughts of Dawgs247 members if you care to comment.

I just hope someone steps up and helps led us to victory in the Outback Bowl! Go Dawgs!

  • I think Boo I liked the way he ran the ball last game. He showed flashes of being a good dependable back. I would like to see his ball catching ability.

WV DAWG, I really do think this game will be a good test for all these guys to showcase their talent and hope they all get snaps to show us how good they CAN be.

They'd all have to get equal time and equally good blocking for us to see that and Bobo would have to game plan to establish a running game; something he's somewhat forgotten to do this past year.

If we run block well and can establish a running game, this wil let AM and our complement of WRs and TEs light up the MSU secondary. Hope that happens!

I, too, would like to see what Boo can do!

  • Im going with Boo. He runs hard and does not go down on the first hit. He wont break 100 yards, but he will run tough if given the chance.

Boo would as soon run over you as around you, and if he gets some early PT and the chance, he can help wear down the MSU defense. We'll need that to happen.

Thanks for the post, Candied bacon.

  • I would like to see Boo also. I know the injury limited IC, but KM showed potential against LSU. For this game if we have two power backs and one scat, it will benefit us greatly against MSUs number 5 ranked D. Can you guys simply picture next year....

  • If Isiah is healthy it's not even close to who has the most impact. Isiah is a future 1or 2nd round pick, the other guys currently on the team would be great to make a practice squad. It's almost as if everyone has forgot all the 100 yard games Isiah was putting up on SEC teams. I really like Boo and his physical running as well as Samuel who is a faster Boo to get in the game and give breaks but when it's all said and done Isiah ends up with 20+ carries for over a 100 yards showing why he was the top RB coming out of high school last year.

I hope he is healthy and we get to see the IC who did run over 100 yards against the SEC defenses. Good point. We just haven't seen him get the chance to play and run without injury since, game 1, I think?

  • I know Dawgs247 isn't a blog site and is set up primarily for our reading edification, but I wanted to say thanks to those who have posted a comment and and to those who have just read this.

It lets me know I didn't waste your time in posting it; I appreciate that!

Thanks, and best to you and the Dawgs as we head into 2012 and the Outback Bowl! Go Dawgs!

  • IC will have the most yardage, but having samuel or boo crashing into the LOS and getting the tough yards will help him. having thunder to his lightning should help us tremendously against sparty, who is pretty stout up front.

  • I would have to say whichever one can pick up the corner blitz, which is something that Sparty likes to do.

That's true, 1eyedJack! We'll have our hands full with their pressing outside rush!

Glad to see you posting on Dawgs247; always enjoyed the short, one-lined witty comments you posted over on the AJC websites!

Nice not having to wade through the trolls here to pick up some UGA football insight! That's one reason I like Dawgs247!

    Thanks for posting a comment!

  • As I posted in live thread, Richt said Malcome will start the game FYI

Thanks, Gentry. Boo must either have had better game-prep or CMB has game-planned for a bruising opening running game, or both!

Either way, run hard, Boo, and hold onto that ball!

  • With four healthy RBs available to play, it looks like we'll have a chance to see who'll challenge Keith Marshall (and hopefully one or two more RB recruits!) the most as who will be our # 1 coming out of spring practice.

Good luck to all four of you guys as you vie for MVP in the ground game!

I really like his succinct, one-lined witticism, southdawg.

Rarely does 1eyedJack comment with more than a one-liner, and if he does, you know he's really miffed about something!

The Dawgs247 members will really enjoy having him join in the commentary!
