After reading this article, Coach Armstrong can't be anything but a great addition to UGA's S&C program!

Great write-up Gentry. I've been waiting for some time now for UGA to implement this type of training with the football team. No matter the sport, anyone that adds this to their regimen improves dramatically over time.

It took 11 years but CMR is finally getting it, the key to greatness in the SEC= a great S&C program. I love this the Junkyard DAWGS on the rise.

The present Athletic Director is making this happen. The previous one "Mr red panties" would not spend the money. So Richt was not the one holding up the S&C program. He is accountable for somethings in the past , but S&C is not one of them!

No, we had a great S&C program in the early 2000's, then CVH started having health concerns and it went down hill from there. IMO, CMR is loyal to a fault but CVH is his best friend. No longer do I feel CMR is complacent like he was for a 2-3 year stretch. The future is looking very bright all the way around for our football program.

ABSOLUTELY! I agree, I think McGarity is changing the old guard, cheap mentality UGA has had for far too long. McGarity has the philosophy of giving our coaches and athletes the best of everything possible to be successful. It has become abundantly clear from the other top programs in the SEC, that if UGA is going to compete for championships on a regular basis, there needs to be a commitment to be the best in every part of the program, from the HC all the way down to the janitor.

It looks to me like McGarity's decision to remove some of CMR's responsibility so he could focus on football has produced significant results. The renewed energy on recruiting, S & C, and even coaching are all producing very positive improvements. When you put them all together, it looks like a huge push in the right direction.
