great..........

  • rambo and ogletree gone for the first two games.

what is wrong with these players?

  • Seems to me that Richt's players lack discipline or he is not recruiting. good kids. I'd say its a little bit of both but that Missouri game is getting tougher each day. Sigh

  • This has nothing to do with CMR. That is BS. This has nothing to do with good or bad kids. This has to do with stupidity. You don't blame a coach for punishment when the rules are well known. You don't blame the coach when you probably just had this conversation after Brandon Smith got arrested. You don't blame the coach when the entire RB corps was suspended last year for the same f'ing thing. You blame the players. Period.

  • At some point you have to blame the coach. This nonsense happens year after year. Time to start micromanage this kids since they can't seem to manage themselves

  • I agree. I don't understand why it is so taboo to say anything negative about Richt. He recruited these guys to UGA. If you the kid is a bad apple or stupid then he has to be aware of this before they sign their letter of intent. I'd see if this was a one time thing but it happens almost every year since Richt is the head coach. You don't blame the followers you blame the leaders. That's how I was raised. I respect your position though.

I was raised up that you exept the responsibilities of your actions. Just to say....if I failed a drug test at my job they would not punish my boss.
    That does not make since.

  • Maybe these kids need more training or mentoring. Something is missing for so many men messing up under your watch. In the military you are held responsible for your actions and so are your leaders. maybe these guys need curfews and random check ins. Something has to be done. They keep talking about a NC. But with all the DUI, woman beating and drug usage going on they better be happy to make it to the independence bowl. All this and we haven't even played the g day game. I'm willing to bet this won't be the last Incident before we kick off against buffalo. Heck we still got half a year before that. That game against mizzou is really concerning me right now.

  • Yep, that military discipline just worked out awesomely over in Afghanistan.....

  • I agree, I don't hate Richt I just think he needs to either recruit better young men or be a disciplinarian. Whatever it takes for this crap to stop.biggrin

  • That was a dumbass post you moron. You don't know what went on over there. Stop looking at the news and enlist and maybe you can be man enough to give your life so someone else can have one

  • The point of the matter is let the person that did the crime do the time. So CMR has to know what a 100 or more kids are doing at the exact same time?

    DawgCommander

  • pretty sure he just took 17 lives, so how is that giving his own?

While i have known plenty of really great people who have served in the military, some of the nastiest people i have known have also served, so yeah, I have never understood why everyone gets a free pass just because they had nothing better to do at 18 and liked playing with guns anyway.

  • An idiot is an idiot. You can't really control that. Hell, we had a president who fooled around while in office as the POTUS. So all of the voters should have kept him in line or should have simply not voted for him because he could have done some stuipid $hit like that. People who think CMR is at fault and should ensure his kids don't do something stupid should get a grip. He can't control those "adults" anymore than most people can control their children. You can tell them not to do something until you are blue in the face...most will listen...some won't. It's life. Not to say that these guys are dang-fool-idjits for what they did.

  • The kids obviously don't get it lol. I'm sure they accepted responsibility and afterwards they do it again. You must at least admit there is a disciplinary problem with UGA's football program and not blaming guys 21 and younger because that's just not right. For example when you have a problem with your order at Burger King you ask to speak to the manager. In this case Richt is the manager.

  • We been letting the person that messed up pay the price. How has that worked? Time to be a team. One team one fight. If one messes up. You all pay. That way you don't let down your team mates. That way the team will learn to police themselves.

  • The manager handles the problem at hand. And that person is delt with accordingly.

    DawgCommander

  • No he needs to recruit young men that are wise enough to do the right thing when no one is watching. Why is it that this stuff occurs at a high rate at UGA? Why do rivals call UGA thug u and make jokes about kids ending up in Clarke county jail? My point is there is a serious problem that needs to be fixed.

  • Chris sanders, nick Marshall , seay, Charles, smith , rambo , and tree. Yeah we don't have a disicipline problem. By the way who at uga is in charge of disicipline at UGA? It's your program, they're your players, it's your team, it's your problem. Stop praying for them and start handing them their ass. I've said for years players are scared to come to side line a Bama and UF when myers was there after a mess up. At UGA players mess up and ran straight to richt. I really like richt. But come on man. Something has to give.

Navy I agree with what your saying for the most part. I just do not agree that CMR is to blame. He follows the guidelines set by the university for the punishment of these players. Like I said in another post the ones paying the price are the other players that have to step up and change a position (malcome Mitchell ). That's the ones that the hardship is on. Just think if we had three or four good years of a talented guy like MM just playing at one position and putting his all at that position. The player and the fans and the season ticket holders are the ones getting the raw end of the deal.

  • I have no problem- kick them off. However, then don't come right back and b and moan about recruiting taking a dive because UGA becomes the one program that is willing to go to that extreme in the conference. Basically, didn't a study just come out there a ridiculous majority of college athletes were smoking pot regularly? When I see something like that and then look at the stats for uGA versus other schools, it becomes pretty telling who is policing themselves and who isn't. That is fine, but in the end, don't expect to win much.

  • I don't get this attitude that Richt can do no wrong. Is it because he is a good Christian man that everyone defends this guy no matter what happens? He recruited Bacarri Rambo, Sanders Commings, Branden Smith, and Alec Ogletree. I don't think any of these kids are bad guys they just made mistakes like kids do. They need proper guidance from Richt or whomever is in charge of supervising them. I'm tired of being thUGA.

  • Not saying you dont hold kids responsible for their actions. But whatever system is in place now is clearly not working. Time to think outside the box and let these guys know it's a privilege to don the red and black. One way or another.

He also recruited a lot of guys that did not get in trouble that did not smoke weed that did not make the headlines for arrest.
Point the finger at the guy smoking the pot! Not CMR.
