BCS Watch: Holding steady

Alabama's loss to Texas A&M on Saturday was not enough to push the Crimson Tide below Georgia in the latest BCS Standings released Sunday night (VIEW THEM HERE).

The Bulldogs held firm at No. 5 after clinching the SEC East with a 38-0 win at Auburn. They stand .0206 points behind fourth-place Alabama in the BCS formula and .1346 back of new No. 1 Kansas State.

It's clear at this point that one-loss Alabama and Georgia each need to win out, including a victory in the SEC championship game, and hope that two of top three teams lose during the next three weeks in order to have a shot to reach the BCS title game.

Georgia still has a shot here, but when it comes to focusing on the national picture, "we're not doing that right now," UGA coach Mark Richt said Sunday.

"We know we're playing in Atlanta. We know that's settled right now," Richt said, "but we know there's a lot of work in the meantime, which is the job of getting better on a daily basis. ... We know we've got some work to do as far as playing Georgia Southern this week. That's really where we've got to be thinking and keeping our minds. If you don't do that, then all that other stuff doesn't mean much."
